Practical tips
-
The bottom rail must be able to
turn freely during tilting. Because the bottom rail hangs
directly above the windowsill or the floor, the drop must be
measured accurately, particularly for "in the recess"
installations. For the correct fitting and operation, it is
recommended that all dimensions are accurately measured and
rounded down.
-
It is of the utmost importance
that the length and width are measured absolutely
accurately. Once the Luxaflex® Silhouette® shade has been
made, the dimensions cannot be altered.
-
Filler blocks and extension
brackets can be used for installation to create extra space.
This may be necessary because window catches and latches can
prevent the free movement of your Luxaflex® Silhouette®
shade. A maximum of 38 mm extra clearance can be created
with filler blocks and a maximum of 76mm with extension
brackets.
-
When installing the headrail
with end supports, the maximum width of a Luxaflex®
Silhouette® shade should be 125 cm. It is important to
indicate that the shade will be fitted in this way, because
special provisions have to be made for this in manufacture.
Cleaning
Luxaflex® Silhouette® shades look
vulnerable but in fact they are very durable. Regular dusting
with a feather duster is usually sufficient to keep the shade
clean and attractive for a long time.
More thorough dusting can be
achieved with a hand-held vacuum cleaner at the lowest setting.
Drag the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner to the side of the fabric
so that the dirt between the front and back of the shade is
collected. You can also use a hair dryer on the coolest setting
for this to blow the dust out of the side of the fabric.
Stubborn dirt and stains can be
removed by immersing the product in a bath (max. 30°C) with a
non-synthetic detergent. Then rinse with clean water, hang it up
and allow to dry with the slats in the closed position.
TAKE CARE! To not get the
headrail wet.
If the shade is wider than the bath,
you can wipe the fabric with a soft sponge or have it cleaned by
a professional cleaning company with ultrasonic cleaning
techniques.
All Luxaflex® Silhouette® shade
fabrics are made from 100% polyester, which means that they are
hard-wearing and strong. Always clean carefully and avoid
creasing the fabric, especially where the slats are attached to
the voile facings. Should creases occur, these will usually fall
out after a short time.
